Trane Cooling Systems: Solutions For Your Cooling Problems

It is getting to be that time of year when you are thinking long and hard about staying cool. Maybe you have even tried to turn on your air conditioning unit and discovered that you have a cooling problem. Whether the problem is in your thermostats, in your sensors, or anything else, Trane has just the solution your cooling problem, and will get you up and running again.

Trane offers you the power to be comfortable at all times, regardless of how often that may change. One of the ways you can remain independent in regard to your cooling is by troubleshooting any problems you may be having. This can allow you to see if the problem is indeed in the thermostat or thermostats in the building, and it can also narrow down if perhaps the problem is in the sensors. Here are some tips to help you know if the trouble is something that can be easily fixed:

1. My cooling system is not producing cool air.

The first thing you want to do is check the circuit breakers to make sure none of them have been tripped. Once you have determined everything to be okay here, check the thermostat; is it where it should be? Is it set to the “cool” setting, and is it on the temperature you normally would want it set on?

If your indoor unit is in running order but you have noticed that the unit outdoors is hot, this will result in hot air being run into your home. If you find this to be the problem you should contact the Trane dealership who services your product.
They will have the solution you need to get things going right again.

2. There is simply no air-flow moving through the space.

Check your filters. Lack of air-flow can usually be attributed to the need for clean filters in your unit. If you do not know how to correct this, you can call your dealership regarding this issue as well. They will be able to assist in answering any questions you may have regarding what product you need and how to go about doing it.

Another problem occurs when your system freezing up. A dirty coil is typically the culprit. First, turn off the unit for 1-3 hours in order to defrost it, and call your Trane Comfort Specialist if you have any further problems.

3. My cooling system is running all the time. It never stops!

This is a common complaint, and usually an easy fix. Check the “extreme” temperature you want the system to produce. If it is set to low, you may find that to be a physical limitation on your cooling system. It is important to take note of this, and be sure that anyone who will control the system is aware. If you force it to work to hard you are inevitably doing more harm than good.
